Day 79 - Saturday, March 20, 2010

Day 79 - Saturday, March 20, 2010 - Liam didn't qualify for the state tournament, so he wrestled in the non-qualifier today and took second place. This was his last tournament of the year, and he has improved so much since his first tournament in January. I'm sad to see the season end, and am already looking forward to next year.

Day 78 - Friday, March 19, 2010

Day 78 - Friday, March 19, 2010 - They're baaaaack!! Mom and Dad are back from Florida and we couldn't be happier. Jordyn squealed with delight when she saw gramma pull in the driveway.

Day 77 - Thursday, March 18, 2010

Day 77 - Thursday, March 18, 2010 - It's one thing that Owen can't match his pajamas. It's another thing altogether that the mismatched jammies are now way too small for him. Good thing the seasons are changing and I can weed out the stuff he's outgrown since the fall.

Day 76 - Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Day 76 - Wednesday, March 17, 2010 - Score! Corned beef and cabbage at Victoria's. MMMmmm. Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Day 75 - Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Day 75 - Tuesday, March 16, 2010 - Like, totally awesome! Jordyn, and her friends Alicia and Shelby, got all dolled up for the eighties dance at school tonight. Of course, they all had to turn to their moms for fashion advice. Now, that's a change of pace! The side pony tail was the go-to hairstyle of the night.

Day 74 - Monday, March 15, 2010

Day 74 - Monday, March 15, 2010 - It's melting! It's melting! The lake is melting!!

Day 73 - Sunday, March 14, 2010

Day 73 - Sunday, March 14, 2010 - Liam wrestled in the MMWA Regional tournament in Clio today. He won his first two matches and then lost his second two (to the boys who went on to take first and second place). I had to cut his bangs AT the tournament because they were touching his eyebrows, which apparently could give his opponent a point. And being as competitive as I am, I wasn't going to let that happen. It wasn't the best haircut, and Kev said he looked like Lloyd Christmas, but a psycho wrestling mom's gotta do, what a psycho wrestling mom's gotta do!

Day 72 - Saturday, March 13, 2010

Day 72 - Saturday, March 13, 2010 - Tonight was Brian and Tara's annual St. Patrick's day party. It was a lot more low key than in years past since both Tara and I are expecting. Also, Kev had to tone it down because we had to get Liam to bed early because of his tournament on Sunday. Even so, I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time.

Day 71 - Friday, March 12, 2010 - Preparing for baby, we bought the stroller/car seat system today. Kev assembled it while watching March madness. I think there were only a couple of spare parts left over.

Day 70 - Thursday, March 11, 2010 - Liam wanted us to get names put on the backs of his and Owen's Central Michigan football jerseys. Liam insisted on getting A. Brown (Antonio Brown, a CMU wide receiver #27) and Owen, who had the quarterback's number, settled for Hillary on the back of his.

Day 69 - Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Day 69 - Wednesday, March 10, 2010 - Liam has recently decided that he prefers to go to bed shirtless.

Day 68 - Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Day 68 - Tuesday, March 9, 2010 - 34 days until ASH arrives.

Day 67 - Monday, March 8, 2010

Day 67 - Monday, March 8, 2010 - Sprouts of green from the thawing earth. And sunshine. YAY!

Day 66 - Sunday, March 7, 2010

Day 66 - Sunday, March 7, 2010 - Took the boys (and Kevin) to the Woodshop for an early dinner today since I enjoyed it so much last night with my girlfriends. Definitely my new fave local restaurant. Worth "the drive" to Clarkston for this BBQ goodness.

Day 65 - Saturday, March 6, 2010

Day 65 - Saturday, March 6, 2010 - It's been far too long since I've seen these girls!! Oh the laughs we share. Let's not wait so long next time!

Day 64 - Friday, March 5, 2010

Day 64 - Friday, March 5, 2010 - Got this "Save the Date" card in the mail today. Can not wait to see these two wed in July. Jason actually brought Maura as a date to our wedding ten years ago. They went their separate ways for most of these past ten years and recently reunited. I am SO happy for them.

Day 63 - Thursday, March 4, 2010

Day 63 - Thursday, March 4, 2010 - The kids are always so happy when Kevin returns from his business trips. Tonight, Kevin picked Liam up from wrestling practice and the three of us went out to dinner afterwards at the Ox, where Liam ordered "a strawberry daiquiri...with out alcohol". Good thing he made that specification, I think the waitress was almost going to bring him the real thing.

Day 62 - Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Day 62 - Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - Every time we go to Owen's favorite restaurant, Big Boy, Owen hugs the statue. Something that Jordyn did when she was little. And Liam did when he was little. And, I'm sure Ashton will do when he is little. And even though Jordyn and Liam both complained today when Owen picked the restaurant for dinner tonight, they both licked their plates clean.

Day 61 - Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Day 61 - Tuesday, March 2, 2010 - Finishing off a late night, hot apple pie from McDonald's.

Day 60 - Monday, March 1, 2010

Day 60 - Monday, March 1, 2010 - Owen is content to play on the computer for hours, even with no other light than the glow of the screen. I particularly like this photo because Kevin made his nightly call home at the exact moment the picture was taken. So, this is kind of a picture of Kevin, too. :)

Day 59 - Sunday, February 28, 2010

Day 59 - Sunday, February 28, 2010 - Liam and his wrestling buddy, Austin kicking back and goofing off in the cafeteria at the Vassar tournament. Both were bronze medalists today.

Day 58 - Saturday, February 27, 2010

Day 58 - Saturday, February 27, 2010 - Amy went back to her roots. No one can call us twins, or "the blonds" anymore. At the Petoskey's annual Chili Cook off. Kev was dethroned.

Day 57 - Friday, February 26, 2010

Day 57 - Friday, February 26, 2010 - Jordyn and her bestie, Alicia, after tonight's choir concert. Churros at Casa.

Day 56 - Thursday, February 25, 2010

Day 56 - Thursday, February 25, 2010 - Owie Bear's typical bedtime prayer: God Dear Jesus, please help me not to think about aliens. Please help me not to think about Coraline. I hope everybody has a good day at school tomorrow. I hope everybody has a good day at work tomorrow. Please help me have good dreams. Amen.

Day 55 - Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Day 55 - Wednesday, February 24, 2010 - Jordyn has joined an after school photography club on Wednesdays and this is one of the many gems that came home on my camera. Nice face, sweetheart.

Day 54 - Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Day 54 - Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - What was I thinking ordering 13 boxes of Girl Scout cookies?!?

Day 53 - Monday, February 22, 2010

Day 53 - Monday, February 22, 2010 - Today we were snowed in. The kids' school was cancelled and Kevin couldn't drive to Indiana for work. He loved being home an extra evening. It gave him time to play with his new Blackberry in the Ghetto Basement while drinking an LBL and tossing footballs to Liam.

Day 52 - Sunday, February 21, 2010

Day 52 - Sunday, February 21, 2010 - Tonight we had a sit-down family dinner AT HOME. Which is very rare these days. It was great. And I am totally loving this kid's willingness to pose for the camera right now.

Day 51 - Saturday, February 20, 2010

Day 51 - Saturday, February 20, 2010 - Jordyn and I had a blast at the Varsity cheer competition today. It was Districts and the Wildcats took 3rd place to advance to Regionals. I'm amazed at how far the "sport" of competitive cheer has come since I was a cheerleader back in the day....many many many moons ago. G-o-o-d T-i-m-e-s!

Day 50 - Friday, February 19, 2010

Day 50 - Friday, February 19, 2010 - Time for TV before scooting out the door to catch the bus.

Day 49 - Thursday, February 18, 2010

Day 49 - Thursday, February 18, 2010 - It might not be put away, yet, but it's folded. Laundry, oh, how I dread thee.

Day 48 - Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Day 48 - Wednesday, February 17, 2010 - This is what a fancy pregnant lady looks like. At least that's what someone at the PTO Spring Fair committee chairpersons meeting told me. I had gone in to the office today for a client meeting (which meant that I actually showered, dressed, make-upped, and coiffed), then I took the kids out to dinner after work, then I went to the ninth grade parent orientation night at the high school, and then I went to the PTO meeting at Starbucks. It was a busy day, and I was surprised when someone at PTO asked me why I was so fancy for a PTO meeting, especially being pregnant! Like I got all dressed up just to discuss the silent auction class baskets, games, and decorations with half a dozen other women from the boys' elementary school.

Day 47 - Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Day 47 - Tuesday, February 16, 2010 - Tonight Jordyn and I went through the 2010-2011 Oxford High School Course Catalog and Class of 2014 Graduation requirements to determine what her ninth grade schedule for next year should look like. Holy Moly, I'm going to have a high schooler in the fall!

Day 46 - Monday, February 15, 2010

Day 46 - Monday, February 15, 2010 - I completely did not expect anything from Kevin for Valentine's Day. It's just a Hallmark holiday and we really never do anything over the top. Needless to say, I was shocked when he presented me with this gift from our local jewelers. It's a pair of delicate white gold hoop earrings that I had picked out and put on a "wish list" (at the jeweler's insistence) back in December when we were in the store getting Kevin's watch repaired. It did put a much needed smile on my face. What did I give Kevin for Valentine's Day? A hug. Even trade.

Day 45 - Sunday, February 14, 2010

Day 45 - Sunday, February 14, 2010 - We celebrated Valentine's Day as a family today. First we went to Casa Real where they had heart shaped tortilla chips and then we all went bowling. Liam secretly asked Kevin for a dollar to try and win a prize for Owen out of one of those claw machines. Kev gave it to him, thinking, Yeah, whatever, you just want to go play games. And wouldn't you know it, Liam came back to the table with two stuffed animals that he promptly gave away to both Owen and Jordyn as Valentine's presents. It was the sweetest thing ever!

Day 44 - Saturday, February 13, 2010

Day 44 - Saturday, February 13, 2010 - Aaron came with us to Liam's wrestling tournament in Holly today. Liam took home another bronze medal and enjoyed having his cousin there to cheer him on.

Day 43 - Friday, February 12, 2010

Day 43 - Friday, February 12, 2010 - Owen received this free kids meal coupon from his teacher for showing kindness the other day. Apparently, someone's boot fell off while he was on the monkey bars and Owen picked up the kid's boot and put it back on his foot. Owen might be a loner and have a hot temper, but it's nice to know he can be kind, too. Of course it didn't take us long to cash in the coupon since we practically live at B-Dub's as it is and it has recently become our Friday night thing to do with the Parsons family.
