Day 223 - Wednesday, August 11, 2010 – WOW! Jordyn joined the JV golf team today! Last night, Coach Gretchen called to ask Jordyn to come to practice and just TRY it! Well, not only did she try it, but she liked it and she did really well. I am so excited to see what the season holds for my tigress!

Day 220 - Sunday, August 8, 2010 – Brian and Tara's daughter Phoebe Delphine is baptized at Holy Redeemer Church in Burton, MI. Almost five years ago, Kevin was on a business trip in Germany when their son Chase was baptized. And this time, Kevin was on a business trip in Poland. But, the kids and I were there to represent.

Day 219 - Saturday, August 7, 2010 – Jordyn and Chelsea got a speed boat ride around Tan Lake from Brandon Kuligowski's Uncle George at Brandon's high school graduation party.

Day 218 - Friday, August 6, 2010 – This quilt was started more than 9 years ago at Liam's baby shower. Each of my shower guests designed and assembled a square, which I later stitched. However, assembling the squares and quilting it together never transpired. This spring, I gave the pieces to a friend of Shawn's and I paid her to assemble it. How fitting that she finished it and I was able to pick it up ON Liam's 9th birthday. Better late than never. Happy Birthday, lover boy.

Day 217 - Thursday, August 5, 2010 – I was shocked to see Jordyn's cell phone abandoned on the kitchen counter. Then I realized why when I her boyfriend, Jacob's, phone was sitting right next to it. She and he had gone swimming and since they were together, the vice grip on their phones was not necessary. She later told me that when the two of them are together, they don't text other people so that they can focus on each other. Aww, how sweet.

Day 216 - Wednesday, August 4, 2010 – The Football Mom's Clinic at the high school gave us a glimpse of what our sons go through at practice. It was fun doing the drills and seeing the legendary Bud Rowley up close an personal (he's in the golf cart in the background).

Day 215 - Tuesday, August 3, 2010 – Little Hollywood is in my backyard. This is the view from my deck at night. Hugh Jackman is filming a movie (Real Steel) in the gravel pit across the lake behing my house. The night sky is lit up like a Batman signal and I can't help feeling close to fame.

Not only did all of Ben Shellnut's kids' families attend, but there was a Tim McGraw impersonator that performed for an hour to everyone's delight...especially cousin Curt.
