Day 363 - Monday, December 29, 2010

Day 363 - Monday, December 29, 2010 – Kevin’s brother, Pat, working on the plumbing in our soon to be finished basement. That blow torch looks like fun!

Day 360 - Sunday, December 26, 2010

Day 360 - Sunday, December 26, 2010 – Liam asked Santa for a FatHead this Christmas for the second year in a row and this year his wish was granted. Although he was hoping to get Cadillac Williams, Santa knows that Cadillac is a short time Buccaneer where as the QB, Josh Freeman, is a Buccaneer lifer and future hall-of-famer. Smart Santa.

Day 335 - Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Day 335 - Wednesday, December 1, 2010 – And the first Christmas card of the year award goes to my Aunt Dee...who has Alzheimer's. Irony that makes me smile.

Day 333 - Monday, November 29, 2010

Day 333 - Monday, November 29, 2010 – Oh, Christmas Tree! Oh, Christmas Tree! It takes eight hours to build you. With all the lights and garland, too. Without the bulbs, what would we do? Oh, Christmas Tree! Oh, Christmas Tree! It takes eight hours to build you.

Day 327 - Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Day 327 - Tuesday, November 23, 2010 – My new toy. Happy early Birthday and Merry early Christmas to me!! I struggled with whether or not to get this or a digital SLR and ultimately decided that the digital SLR would be too much camera for me, so why spend that much coin on it?

Day 306 - Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Day 306 - Tuesday, November 2, 2010 – A messy office does not a happy Heather make.

Day 305 - Monday, November 1, 2010

Day 305 - Monday, November 1, 2010 – Laundry for six people sure has a way of piling up quickly. At least this stuff is clean.

Day 294 - Thursday, October 21, 2010

Day 294 - Thursday, October 21, 2010 – Kevin and I celebrated our TEN YEAR anniversary today. Unfortunately, Kevin was in Germany on business. So, he sent these roses to me. (Cue the Awwwww's) Liam answered the door and signed for them and excitedly rushed them upstairs to me. All of the kids were super excited and Jordyn told me (with tears in her eyes) how happy she was that I had married Kevin. Because, had we not gotten married, we probably wouldn't have moved to Oxford, and she wouldn't know all her friends, and she wouldn't have her wonderful brothers. It was very sweet.

Day 288 - Friday, October 15, 2010

Day 288 - Friday, October 15, 2010 – I put this back splash up today in my kitchen (Southern Living at Home's Patina Wall Tiles). Obviously, the next project in my kitchen has got to be the installation of hardware.

Day 285 - Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Day 285 - Tuesday, October 12, 2010 – After living in this house for 3.5 years, not only is this the first squirrel I've ever seen in my neighborhood, but the squirrel also found it's way onto my bird feeder!!

Day 277 - Monday, October 4, 2010

Day 277 - Monday, October 4, 2010 – A trip to Costco and Meijer today allowed me to stock up on some good stuff. Tasty.

Day 276 - Sunday, October 3, 2010

Day 276 - Sunday, October 3, 2010 – I did a lot of decorating this weekend. It's amazing how happy I feel after sprucing up our home. The fondest memories are made when gathered around the table.

Day 267 - Friday, September 24, 2010

Day 267 - Friday, September 24, 2010 – One of the things I love about living on this lake is this guy. He doesn't live on the lake but on slightly windy days or super windy days (like today), he brings out his sailboat and goes back and forth. We have such a good time watching him.

Day 264 - Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Day 264 - Tuesday, September 21, 2010 – This is what happens when you keep your keys in the ignition all night. Battery D-E-A-D. My new neighbor across the street tried to jump it this morning but it wouldn't even turn over. So, then my mom brought me her van to use for the day. And in the evening it was Larry Alcorn to the rescue. Good thing he makes house calls.

Day 263 - Monday, September 20, 2010

Day 263 - Monday, September 20, 2010 – Owen has been practicing the piano and is anxiously awaiting Mr. D's second lesson today.

Day 259 - Thursday, September 16, 2010

Day 259 - Thursday, September 16, 2010 – Oh my goodness, I just had to laugh out loud when I walked in the boys' bathroom and saw this toothbrush stuck to the mirror. Yep, you guessed it. Owen.

Day 238 - Thursday, August 26, 2010

Day 238 - Thursday, August 26, 2010 – Evidence of a 6 year old living in the house. Magnetic spider man from the McDonald's Happy Meal found attached in unexpected locations. Oh, Owen.

Day 231 - Thursday, August 19, 2010

Day 231 - Thursday, August 19, 2010 – While, and I quote from the Oakland Press "the National Weather Service storm survey team concluded that the damage observed in and around the Lake Orion, Oxford, and Metamora areas was consistent with thunderstorm straight line winds with speeds up to 70 mph", I beg to differ. They did not see the rain and lake water swirling in several spirals during this half hour ordeal. I've never seen anything like it. And, even though there is a tornado siren directly across the street (I can see the siren from my front porch), there was no alarm being sounded. Really? Obviously, the kids and I took cover in the basement, but not until the storm was literally right on top of us. If these were straight line winds, how did a piece of patio furniture get sucked from the middle of our backyard patio and get twisted up like a pretzel landing in the front yard of the empty lot next door to us. I'm no meteorologist, but, I'll tell ya, THAT was a freaking tornado.

Day 215 - Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Day 215 - Tuesday, August 3, 2010 – Little Hollywood is in my backyard. This is the view from my deck at night. Hugh Jackman is filming a movie (Real Steel) in the gravel pit across the lake behing my house. The night sky is lit up like a Batman signal and I can't help feeling close to fame.

Day 200 - Monday, July 19, 2010

Day 200 - Monday, July 19, 2010 - Preparing to send Ashton to daycare meant having to purchase and wash bottles. Not ready for this.
